This points scoring method will cause a linear / straight line calculation to be applied to your results. Each Event / Age group / Gender needs to be set up individually.
Unlike the 'Linear' points method, a minimum result is applied but a maximum is not. Instead an result 'increment' is determined which will result in a set number of points. Minimum and maximum points are also determined.
Example:
100m event, U10 Boys
In the above example:
Unlike the 'Linear' points method, a minimum result is applied but a maximum is not. Instead an result 'increment' is determined which will result in a set number of points. Minimum and maximum points are also determined.
Example:
100m event, U10 Boys
- The minimum result that points will be allocated for (the worst result which will receive points): 30.0 (seconds)
- An Incremental result is determined: 0.5 (seconds)
- Points for each increment are determined: 5 (points)
- Minimum Points: The points that will be applied to the Minimum results, for instance, 0 (zero) (this to be applied to 30.0 seconds and slower)
- Maximum Points: The points that will be applied to the Maximum result, for instance, 100 (this to be applied to the best result of 15.0 seconds)
In the above example:
- A result of 30 seconds will receive 0 points
- A result of 29.5 seconds will receive 5 points
- Since a maximum has been set in this case of 100 points, the maximum points will be reached after 20 increments (100 points / 5 points)
- Since 20 equates to 10 seconds (20 x 0.5 seconds), the maximum points will be reached at 20 seconds (30 seconds - 10 seconds).
