If you are using more than one timing system (where a 'system' should be thought of as a USB timing hub connected to any of our wireless hardware products) then there are some important considerations. 

To avoid the two systems cross talking with each other there are two options:

Option 1: Simplest option - be very careful when entering 'Setup' screen

If you are using two or more timing systems that are 'unlocked', you must ensure you only have one system on the setup screen at one point.  

Context: When in 'Setup' screen RaceHQ is in 'pairing' mode. If a wireless hardware item is turned on while a computer with a connected USB hub is in Setup screen, that piece of hardware will be 'paired' to that computer. 

Situations can occur when, for example, a back straight system in Setup screen and during that period a 'front straight' hardware item is turned on. This can obviously lead to a great deal of confusion. 

So ensure that you communicate with other computer operators when moving into Setup screen. 

Option 2: Lock hardware items to a specific computer

This option allows you to 'lock' certain hardware items to a specific computer. 

Benefits: Allows you to have multiple systems on Setup screen and not 'cross talk' with each other

Complications: Operators need to be aware that certain hardware items are locked to specific computers, for instance when they want to use a 'back straight' start device on a 'front straight' computer they will need to add this hardware item to the front straight preconfigured units list. 

Follow these steps to lock your devices to a specific computer.:

• Visit settings and enable 'Use Preconfigured List'
• Press 'Setup List' 

• A dialogue will appear. 
  • You can begin to power on the hardware items that you would like to lock to this computer, and they will appear in the list
  •  

• If you already have items paired via Setup screen you can press 'Use Current List' and select 'Yes' in the dialogue box that appears

• The currently preconfigured/locked units will appear on the screen
  • You can remove individual items by pressing the red cross
  • You can remove all units by pressing the Refresh button

Adding non-preconfigured items to your existing list

While you have 'preconfigured units' selected if you happen to be in Setup screen while a non-preconfigured hardware item is turned on, you will be notified of this via a message at the bottom of setup screen. You have the choice to add this item to the pre-configured list

• Note: This will not remove this piece of hardware from a previous computer that it may have been preconfigured to - you should do that as a separate step otherwise it will be available to two systems.
