Incorrect / Random start time from Start Device

A procedure has been identified that can lead to an undesired outcome for your Race time. 

Outcome:

• Start Device is used to Start a race

• Timer on RaceHQ jumps to an incorrect time (generally obvious) such as 10 seconds (or can be minutes). 

• This start time persists for future races until corrective action is taken. 

Procedure that results in this outcome:

1. User is in race screen in RaceHQ. Start device is connected (start device jack/plug configuration does not matter)

2. Turn start device off and on

3. Wait for Start Device to reconnect to RaceHQ (ie. when light goes solid green)

4. Insert or remove audio cable (3.5mm) from the top left input jack on the Start Device (the 'Wifi' symbol)

5. The Start Device will power down (due to a short that occurs when cable is plugged into the WiFi jack)

6. Turn the Start Device back on. 

7. The Start times will now 'Start' with the same incorrect Start time for each race going forward. 

To correct the situation

• Navigate to Setup screen

• Press 'Go Race' and move into race screen

• Your race times will now begin at the expected 'zero' time

Longer term resolution

• A new version of firmware will be available soon that will handle this specific procedure better and the issue will not occur
