The True Inclusion Method (TIM) is a ranking system that places athletes based on how much they improve, rather than how they perform compared to others. It compares each athlete’s result to their personal best (PB) for the season, highlighting individual progress and effort.
TIM encourages participation for all ability levels by recognising improvement, no matter where an athlete starts. It supports fairness, motivation, and personal growth - key values in inclusive sport.
TIM rankings start from an athlete’s second attempt at an event in the season, using their first attempt as their initial PB.
In ResultsHQ, TIM can be switched on at the State level, with Centres then able to choose whether to use it. Once enabled, TIM columns will appear in results entry and reports. Families can also see TIM data in their Family Portal, offering more insight into each athlete’s improvement.
Note: TIM rankings are shown alongside regular ranking - they do not replace them.
