Introduction
This support topic explains how the Season PB’s feature works and how it helps keep athlete performance data accurate and up to date. It covers how the system manages Season Personal Bests (PBs) and PB Flags, and how users can trigger recalculations when needed.
NOTE: If a Centre has TIM Ranking enabled, the drop-down menu will show “Season PB & TIM Ranking” instead of just Season PB. Both the Season PB and TIM Ranking will be calculated together.
For more information on TIM rankings, refer to the True Inclusion Method (TIM) – Timing Solutions Support Forum.

Season PBs and Season PB Stars
What is a Season PB?
A Season PB (Season Personal Best) is the best performance an athlete has achieved in a specific event during the current season. This is always a single value.
What is a PB Star?
A PB Star is a visual star used to mark a performance as a Season Personal Best. Athletes may earn multiple PB Stars throughout the season whenever they beat their previous Season PB.
The primary distinction between a Season PB and a Season PB star is that you receive a Season PB star when you break your previous season PB, therefore you can have many Season PB stars whereas you will always have only one Season PB value which is the best result for the season for an event.
Using the recalculate Season PB’s Button
Overview
The recalculate Season PB’s button combines the recalculation of both Season PBs and PB Stars into one action, simplifying the process.
When to Use It
Use this button if:
-
Season PBs or PB stars appear incorrect or are missing.
-
You’ve corrected results or re-entered data for previous weeks.
-
You’ve changed PB calculation logic (e.g. to include/exclude first week).
What is the recalculating process?
When the button is triggered:
-
The system recalculates all Season PB values.
-
It then updates the PB Stars, applying PB stars where relevant.
-
The recalculation covers all results from the beginning of the season to the current date.
-
This process ensures that all Season PBs and PB stars reflect the most accurate and up-to-date data.
-
Due to the amount of data being reviewed in the calculation, the process may take up to 20 minutes to complete. As such, you can enter your email address to receive a notification when it’s complete.
NOTE:
- If your PBs seem incorrect, use the Season PB’s function to recalculate them.
- This recalculation process ensures the data on the homepage, event reports, and PB summaries are all up to date.
Recalculating Points
If your athlete points related to Season PBs are not displaying correctly, you can click Recalculate - Points to ensure they are up to date. We recommend doing this especially if you've just done a Season PBs recalculate.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. What if I entered an incorrect result?
- Correcting a result does not automatically update Season Bests. Run Recalculate Season - Season Bests.
2. How do I update athlete points after making changes?
- Use the Recalculate - Points button to ensure points are recalculated based on the latest data.
